HOMEMADE WHITE  BREAD

INGREDIENTS 

Flour - 3 cups
Active Dry Yeast - 2 Tsps
Milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 2 Tbsps 
Butter - 4 Tbsps 
Salt - 1 1/4 Tsps

METHOD 

Heat the milk 
Add butter to the hot milk
Wait until the milk is lukewarm 
Now add the yeast and sugar
Allow the yeast to ferment for 10 minutes 
Add salt to taste to the flour and mix well
Add the dry ingredients to the yeast mixture 
Knead to a soft smooth dough 
Add more milk or flour if required while kneading 
Knead the dough for 10 minutes 
Grease a bowl with melted butter 
Transfer dough to the bowl
Cover bowl with a cling film
Set aside for an hour until dough doubles
Grease a work table with oil or melted butter 
Knock out air from the dough and knead 
Shape dough into a log as the size of loaf tin
Grease the loaf tin with melted butter 
Place the log shaped dough inside loaf tin 
Cover with greased cling film 
Set aside for an hour
Meanwhile preheat oven to 180*C for 15 minutes 
Bake bread in the preheated oven for nearly 25 - 30 minutes until the top is golden
Remove bread from oven and brush on top with melted butter
Set aside to cool for 2 - 3 hours before slicing

Notes:

If you’re using instant dry yeast add it to the flour directly 
Timing might vary with different brands of ovens available in the market
