RAVA KICHADI
INGREDIENTS
Rawa - 1 cup
Onion - 1
Green Chillies - 2
Ginger Paste - 1/2 Tsp
Garlic Paste - 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Carrot - 1/4 cup
String Beans - 1/4 cup
Peas - 1/4 cup
Salt - To Taste
Hot Water - 3 cups
Coriander Leaves - 2 Tbsp
TO TEMPER
Ghee or Oil - 2 Tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp
Urad Dal - 1 Tsp
Cashew Nuts - 10
Curry Leaves - 1 Sprig
METHOD
Dice onion and all vegetables fine
Parboil the veggies and set aside
Roast rawa and keep aside
Heat ghee in a pan and add ingredients to temper
When the cashews and dal turn brown add the chopped onion sauté till soft and transparent
Add the ginger garlic paste and sauté till raw smell is no more
Add the chopped green chillies and sauté
Add the parboiled veggies and sauté well
Add turmeric powder and salt to taste
Add the roasted rava and mix well
Add the hot water and in medium flame keep stirring
When the mixture is mushy remove pan from stove
Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaves
Notes
If liked a chopped tomato can be added
