SOURSOP FRUIT RECIPES

Soursop fruit as we all know is the best remedy for Cancer. It's considered as  an alternative medicine to Chemotherapy which also boosts the immune system . And it's not an easy thing to have it just like that when you are gifted with the fruit from family and friends who own a Soursop tree.

So here are a few recipes I tried with Soursop fruit and wanted to share with my family and friends who are fighting CANCER

SOURSOP SMOOTHIE 

INGREDIENTS 

Soursop Pulp - 1/2 cup
Boiled Chilled Milk - 1/4 cup
Milk Powder - 2 Tbsp
Condensed Milk - 2 Tbsp
Sugar - To Taste

METHOD 

Remove seeds from fruit and chill the pulp
Boil milk cool at room temperature and chill
Pulse or beat all the ingredients in a mixer
Serve in glasses preferably with a spoon as the smoothie will be thick

Note

Since the pulp of the fruit is creamier after blitzing it becomes thick

SOURSOP LASSI

Soursop Pulp - 1 cup
Thick Curd - 2 cups
Milk - 1 cup
Ice Cubes - 4
Sugar - To Taste
Cardamom Powder - A Pinch

METHOD 

Chill all ingredients except last two
Blend well in a mixer all the above ingredients 
Serve in tall glasses

Note
Milk is optional. 
I added to lessen the sour taste.

SOURSOP SORBET

Soursop Pulp - 1 cup
Sugar - To Taste
Water - As Required 

METHOD 

Remove the seeds from fruit and refrigerate the pulp for nearly 2 hours
To the required amount of sugar take equal quantity of water and simmer till sugar is dissolved.
Simmer for a few more minutes ( I simmered for ten minutes )
Cool the sugar syrup at room temperature and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Blitz fruit pulp with the required amount of sugar syrup in a mixer with small intervals for nearly 10 minutes till both are well blended 
Freeze till serving time
The final product will resemble smoothie like texture when scooped

Note
Usually in all sorbets lemon juice is added
I have not added lemon juice as the fruit is very sour
You can replace sugar with honey and make honey syrup
You can churn the fruit pulp and sugar syrup in an ice cream machine also
Since the fruit was very creamy could not get the exact sorbet texture
But the end result was tasty
